Sonny Rollins In Glocca Morra
when first he was asked
spring buds had yet to fully open
now rising out of autumn heath
that tenor sax strides deep
……………………………down slope
slow tall & proud
to a tucked away Glen village
built with vision, enduring stone
……………………………& centuries timber
to break strong malted bread
with those whom mingling & maintenance continues
even as winter approaches
when the imminence of arrival in announced
ears perk
faces turn
Man woman child
towards the sound of that piper’s direction

Free Jazz In The Grove
Just Beyond
branch frantic
bushtail flow
sunlight silhouettes
haul ass
through leaves
like nobody’s business
a squirrel show
without interruption
their music seems Ornette
