The Dancer
…….(written while viewing “The Dancer,” a painting by Elaine Croce Happnie)
She is mesmerizing
flying in the air with the music,
ignoring gravity.
What is she thinking?
Thoughts not dressed in words
flow freely,
unrestricted and uncensored.
It’s a private dance
we dance
to the music of the mind.
We want music to be light, merry
to push away the medieval saraband
we try to stop the iron sounds,
wishing all thoughts around
to dance to the rhythm of the valse.
