Phasis
Day six
and the dissonance
of my pneumonia
has become as percussive
as Cecil Taylor’s piano.
I shuffle around,
snuffling, wheezing
and spewing . . .
Right around
my Adam’s Apple,
there’s a tickle
that triggers,
from deep inside
a cough that
brings with it
discordant sounds,
chords that clash
in disharmony,
filling my chest
with a torrent
of rumbling
and crashing
percussions.
I’m track two of “Phasis”.
“Azure” is in my cough,
as my whole self
sinks into “Trance”.
