Perceiving The Same Notes
That Black Olive near the back providing shade
a steady venue for beak & feather songsters
roaming around the leaves
as if they were tables at the Club Aviary
and these birds were playing in a morning after jam session
This, no rude awakening by any means. for
One particular call and response
I took as a choral reminder for me to McCoy Tyner
absent from my ears for awhile
and in so doing, for a good long while,
settled into a fertile day
