Calling all short fiction writers!
The deadline for entering stories in the 67th edition of the Jerry Jazz Musician Short Fiction Contest is September 30. Complete contest details can be found by clicking here.
This triannual contest has been ongoing since 2002. Story winners are typically nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and short-listed stores are often chosen for publication.
“Not From Around Here,” Jeff Dingler’s winning story in the recently concluded 66th edition of the contest, is about a Jewish kid coming of age in Alabama and discovering his identity through music, in particular the interstellar sound of Sun Ra. If you’d like to read it, you can do so by clicking here.
Many thanks to the countless writers who have participated in this contest over these many years.
.
Sincerely,
Joe Maita
Editor/Publisher
