Way back in the ’40s,
she had a cat
black as night
and named it . . .
Well, you know.
This was the ’40s
In the ’50s,
driving through Roxbury,
he pointed at the children
jumping rope on the sidewalk.
“Look at all the ‘picka . . .'”
Well, you know.
It was the ’50s.
April 4, 1968 . . .
Well, you know.
It was the ’60s . . .
We all know
what they were like.
