Winter Tempers Our Souls
In the heavy burden of snow,
when pearly whiteness covers the Earth’s soul,
when jazz music curtails our hearts,
it melts the ice inside;
when mesmerizing snowflakes
flatter every leaf, every pine-needle,
when they weigh equally on bushes,
and branches and dirt,
when in an equal frequency
they disappear in the water of creeks,
rivers and seas
carrying away worries of Earth,
when its softness caresses our hair,
eyelashes and cheeks,
when our naked souls dance within its peace,
inside self a voice awakens and sings:
“We become one by softness and purity.
Even nature owns its balance of equality,
and rebirths the sense of togetherness.”

How wonderful. Not only does the snow evoke the physical and emotional but also the state of our world. Lovely piece. Ahmad Jamals piece fits too.
