When We Saw Les Paul
Five years before Les Paul died
my new beau from New York City
took me to the Iridium Jazz Club,
where Les took center stage
on Monday nights
with his stories & songs
he played on & on
his Gibson Les Paul guitar.
Yes, he did help invent
the electric guitar, kids!
Just watch him play,
& be mesmerized.
