BLUES AT SUNRISE
Sunrise Thinking of you
Slowly rising from sleep
All my thoughts irrational
Waking dreams
Farewell
To daft wishing
And hopes of one true love
All I’ve known and seen before
Fades away
Morning
Giving birth to
The duties of living
Seems the death of folly
For all time
AFRAID TO DANCE
Everyday,I am bound to die
So,look at me and tell me why
All those years ago,I didn’t care
I’d simply step outside and get some air
Cold black coffee and sacred days
Left me sick and dizzy,in a haze
I’d feel my guts and want to shout out loud,
“I’m drunk again,and I ain’t proud!”
I play sloppy licks, just standing still
(And I’m hoping someday words won’t kill)
With not one word, and just a glance
She takes my hand, but I’m afraid to dance
