As Long As You Living Yours (For Keith Jarrett)
” the heart is in the music, the music is where the heart lives—” — Keith Jarrett
” whatever you do, don’t meet your idols!” — Dennis Miller
not even schroeder from the peanuts
comic strip
is as dedicated to the piano
and he has a bust of beethoven
gracing his steinway!
you pull sounds out of the air
making something out of nothing
you call it improvisation:
i say, god’s just using you as
a transmitter for his thoughts…
you make music only madmen
or geniuses know
people think you are nuts
for signing into the piano
as you play
but talent will excuse you
for your
eccentricities
to hear you play, makes me
glad i never took piano lessons
it would’ve been like trying to
fight godzilla
i will go broke and starve
just buying your crap albums
simply because it’s you
you played with miles…enough said
unlike schroeder, you don’t
need a bust of
beethoven resting on your
piano
you are a god
my idea of heaven on a sunday morning
being in a coffeehouse with lovely,
creative and talented people
a good breakfast
mimosas
and the stereo system
playing keith’s “somewhere over the
rainbow,”
giving my ears an orgasm
