…..Hubert Prior Vallée (July 28, 1901 – July 3, 1986), was known professionally as Rudy Vallée, taking the name “Rudy” due to his interest in the saxophonist Rudy Wiedoeft. He was a successful singer, musician, actor and radio host, and one of the first modern “teen idols.”

…..In a 1949 interview with Downbeat magazine, Charlie Parker said that he discovered jazz, “heavily disguised as Rudy Vallee.”
