The Character

Learn about the character, Jerry Jazz Musician.

About the web site

Jerry Jazz Musician is part magazine, part catalog. We feature original content and offer a variety of lifestyle products for sale. We focus on mid 20th Century America and use jazz as the centerpiece of the site's culture, although we believe our visitors also have interests in literature, film, art and sports, and thus market to a wide audience.

What do we sell on Jerry Jazz Musician?

Primarily, we feature products relating to the culture of jazz and mid twentieth century Americana. It is our philosophy that people who like jazz also like film and literature and sports and extensions of the jazz lifestyle beyond the music itself.

Who are we?

We are people who grew up with great respect for music. During childhood and into college, we scoured the bins at record shops for Thelonious Monk and Count Basie albums. We found ourselves drawn not just to the music, but to the culture of jazz. Long hours were spent fantasizing about what it would have been like to take part in this world, to go to Newport, to see Monk at the Five Spot, to travel over Route 66. Long hours were also spent fantasizing about Miss October, but thats an entirely different web site concept.

What are our plans?

We hope to create a setting where thought provoking ideas and unique products can merge under the Jerry Jazz Musician logo.
